A Word About Our Reopening

Throughout the years we have built close relationships with our customers. Many of you heard the reasons for our closure. We were only supposed to be at that space for a few months, which became a year and a half. Our interest in reopening was limited due to the vast trove of capital often required to relocate a business. In the end, it was decided that it wasn’t worth continuing at least for a little while. I returned to my photography career and was able to notch some accomplishments in that world that I hadn’t yet made. It didn’t seem as if We Bite would return but the door was always left open in case an opportunity presented itself, which DID finally happen!

We are excited to announce the reopening of We Bite Rare & Unusual Plants and to rejoin the family consisting of some of the most amazing nurseries and plant shops in New Orleans that, in my opinion, rank among the best in the country. We Bite has always been first and foremost a community hub of growers and like-minded individuals who sought a place to learn and grow their knowledge and craft and we look forward to servicing you just as we had done before but with some extras. A lot has changed in the last couple of years including a significant reduction in the cost of plants. It is our hope that we can offer great prices and value to your experience of confidently shopping for plants and plant related products.

We Bite will return to the Marigny where it began at the ideal location on St. Claude and Franklin where we could sink our roots alongside other mom and pop shops, bars and restaurants. I appreciate the support we’ve received throughout the years even when we were without a home for our plants. I’m looking forward to offer things at the new store that we hadn’t been able to provide in the past.

With our return comes the soil bar and our plentiful workshops designed for the beginner and expert. We’ll be able to do things with this location that would have been impossible at our previous one. I am forever inspired by the magic shop from Pee Wee’s Big Adventure where the owner delighted in wowing his customers with his trade. I am excited to offer a delightful experience to you. We’ll see y’all on March 2nd.
