TEMPERATE BUTTERWORTS CARE SHEET
PINGUICULA PRIMULIFLORA
WATER: DO NOT USE TAP WATER. It will kill the plant. Use reverse osmosis, distilled or rainwater. A gallon will last nearly a month for one tray depending on where you keep the plant and temperature (evaporation rate). Likes to be permanently wet, with overhead watering. Recommended chilly water.
SOIL: Recommended 50% peat moss, 50% sand, perlite.
LIGHT: Partly sunny or very bright light. Don’t roast in the summer months.
DORMANCY: Usually survive light winter frost but are best protected from severe cold and have usually slow or stop growth in winter.
FERTILIZER: Temperate butterworts if grown outside or in a bog garden, fertilizing is not necessary.
