TROPICAL CARNIVOROUS PLANT CARE SHEET

DROSERA ALICIAE // DROSERA CAPENSIS BROADLEAF // DROSERA CAPENSIS ALBA // DROSERA PROLIFERA // DROSERA SPATULATA

WATER: DO NOT USE TAP WATER. It will kill the plant. Use reverse osmosis, distilled or rainwater. A gallon will last nearly a month for one tray depending on where you keep the plant and temperature (evaporation rate). Water as soon as the tray is empty. Do not let soil dry or it will turn brown in color.

SOIL: 50% sphagnum peat moss and 50% perlite or sand (I’ve found that sand retains water best. It looks nicer too). Premixed soil for this plant will be available April 2024 at the Soil Bar.

LIGHT: Bright sunny window or grow lights. Outdoors is possible but bring inside during winter.

DORMANCY REQUIREMENT: Not required

FERTILIZER: This plant will catch its own fertilizer. AVOID Miracle Gro and most fertilizers. It will likely kill the plant.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • It is normal for leaves to die back. Prune them. If too many begin to turn black then email at info@webitenola.com so we can troubleshoot the issue.

  • This list contains general advice. We recommend seeking more information on the web. Visit the website of the International Carnivorous Plant Society (www.carnivorousplants.org) for more tips on how to grow your plant.
